The State Department cites edge computing as one of its highest technological priorities. It has more than 200 outposts around the world. Brian Merrick, The director of cloud programs at the State Department explains why he calls the cloud his agency’s “Swiss army knife” for edge computing.

According to the Office of Management and Budget, identity management is one of the key elements of the zero-trust shift the federal government is undertaking. André Mendes, the Commerce Department’s Chief Information Officer, describes what he found regarding ID management when he arrived at the Department, and what he did about it.

The Defense Information Systems Agency will lead the Department of Defense’s massive Joint Combat Cloud Capabilities program. The Department plans to release its award in December. Sharon Woods, the executive director of the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Cloud Computing Program Office, explains why cloud computing is not a one-size-fits-all model.
